inRESONANCE Announces Acquisition Of Schoolyard

Combined companies leverage the intelligence and expertise of open-source, FileMaker, and school information technology

Northampton, MA (PRWEB) - inRESONANCE (iR), the premier open FileMaker platform for schools and non-profits, acquires Schoolyard and adds the open-source web system to its suite of industry-leading solutions. The core philosophies of iR and Schoolyard leverage the collective intelligence of larger communities to provide comprehensive data and web solutions for independent schools worldwide.

The Schoolyard product, brand, and key personnel will become a division of iR. Schoolyard Founder Mark Bistline will join iR as an important asset to the leadership team and will continue to represent the Schoolyard division in the independent school market.

“Our mission at iR is to provide products and services that transform the power and productivity of those who are making the world a better place,” said inRESONANCE Founder and CEO Kevin J. McAllister. “Our acquisition of Schoolyard complements our database solutions and gives iR clients even more functionality, smoother integration, and better support.”

By combining Schoolyard’s open, state-of-the-art web technology with iR’s open, balanced data systems, iR has become a leader in offering a superior, integrated information solution for schools. iR will continue to offer single sign-on and other connections that work well with other web companies, and existing Schoolyard clients can continue to use their current data systems.

“Schoolyard and inRESONANCE have partnered together for years in a variety of ways,” noted Schoolyard Founder and CEO Mark Bistline. “There is a natural synergy between the open, customizable FileMaker solutions built by inRESONANCE and the open source web system pioneered by Schoolyard. The acquisition of Schoolyard by inRESONANCE brings the paths we have shared to a logical junction, and we are confident this announcement will make sense to everyone in our industry. It is the best possible news for Schoolyard clients, present and future.”

Both iR and Schoolyard teams are working to combine the two companies’ technologies and support teams to provide a superior client experience. Combined iR and Schoolyard solutions will give schools fuller opportunities to integrate their information and communication systems.

“We have a long history with both inRESONANCE and Schoolyard,” said Ryan Gallagher, director of technology, San Francisco Friends School. “This is a perfect merging of two great products we have used for years. The new company will be greater than the sum of its parts.”
