New Visitor Management System Screens for Sex Offenders

Salisbury, NC ;(PRWEB) - Raptor Technologies, the nation’s leading provider of visitor management technologies for K-12 schools, is helping Rowan-Salisbury School System in North Carolina enhance its security measures by providing new visitor management software to 35 elementary, middle, and high schools.

After an independent organization conducted a school safety audit, it was recommended that Rowan-Salisbury invest in a visitor management system to screen for sex offenders, provide customized alerts and enable reporting to track who is in the school buildings.

“School safety is always top of mind,” said Sharon Gardner, risk manager for Rowan-Salisbury School System. “With Raptor Technologies, we will be able to screen visitors and view who is in our buildings at all times, providing enhanced safety for students, teachers and staff.”

The Raptor Technologies visitor management system checks against a comprehensive database of registered sex offenders in all 50 states and to date has flagged more than 15,000 registered sex offenders attempting to enter its clients’ campuses. The Raptor system is also capable of instantly screening against a custom alert database that can contain custodial alerts for each school or district.

“Raptor Technologies is dedicated to developing school safety technologies to protect schools throughout the United States,” said Jim Vesterman, CEO of Raptor Technologies. “By providing Rowan-Salisbury with Raptor’s innovative visitor management system, they will be able to keep unwanted visitors out and know exactly who is allowed into their schools.”

The Rowan-Salisbury School System is home to 20,000 students and 3,000 staff members. The school system selected Raptor Technologies for its secure visitor screening process, its ease of use, and its exemplary customer service, according to school officials. The visitor management systems will be in use at all Rowan-Salisbury schools in early 2015.
