Jenzabar Announces Upgraded Product For Non-Traditional Students, Jenzabar NTS 2.0

Boston MA - Jenzabar, Inc., the leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, announced recently a product upgrade to Jenzabar Non-Traditional System (Jenzabar NTS), designed to manage and grow non-traditional education programs. The advanced software was developed in response to the growth of online students, adult learners and other non-traditional students as a means to streamline business processes, increase level of service, and measure financial contribution for non-traditional university and college programs.

Before the development of Jenzabar's non-traditional student software, Institutes of Higher Education had to force-fit session-based programs into an administrative system or manually manage programs. The enhanced software, Jenzabar NTS 2.0, provides new features and functionality to accommodate non-traditional students. The upgraded system gives Institutions of Higher Education even greater power and flexibility to set up new sections of course offerings in real-time; accommodate flexible course dates; audit financial, enrollment, or academic transactions; and register blocks of students. The software also contains robust e-commerce capabilities and advanced multiple payment plan and financial analysis tools. Jenzabar NTS is compatible with any Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and may be integrated with Jenzabar's Learning Management System (LMS).

In order to increase non-traditional student enrollment at schools, Jenzabar introduced the NTS Shopping Cart, a feature that enables prospective students to place courses of interest in a shopping cart, much as they would on an e-commerce site. Jenzabar upgraded the NTS solution in response to the increase in university and college partnerships with external corporations, which created a need for group registration and complex billing rules. In addition, the rapid growth of non-traditional students created a need for time-saving features and comprehensive financial analysis tools.

"Jenzabar's NTS solution was created to provide colleges and universities with an efficient and effective approach to manage the growing population of adult learners and non-traditional students and keep schools at the forefront of the continuing education market," said Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Jenzabar. "Since schools are now competing with academic institutions across the world, we recognize the competitive advantage of offering non-traditional programs and aim to support schools in gaining that edge."

More than 40 percent of U.S. students participate in higher education on a part-time basis. Institutions of Higher Education are increasingly offering continuing education courses, certificate and degree-completion programs to meet the needs of a changing student population. By doing such, universities and colleges are providing education on unusual schedules, at an accelerated pace, or on a course-by-course basis. Non-traditional course offerings have become a significant revenue generator for many schools and have given them a key competitive advantage.
