More than 2,000 campus stores, unaffiliated resellers, and VARs purchase vertical-discounted products from Academic Distributing. The 10,000 plus marketing, sales and support personnel employed by these resellers provide a strong foundation upon which Academic Distributing relies for its success. Academic Distributing, Inc. began business in 1989 as Academic Computing Specialists, a computer products mail-order company focused on higher education. In 1992 the business focus was changed from retail and wholesale to wholesale only. In 1994 the business headquarters moved from Salt Lake City, UT to Dewey, AZ and the business name was changed to Academic Distributing. On January 1, 1995 the company was incorporated, becoming Academic Distributing, Inc.
