The high school version of Dollars & Sense: Personal Finance for the 21st Century provides a comprehensive overview of how to take control of your finances and make them work for you. Strategies on comprehensive overview of how to take control of your finances and make them work for you. Strategies on planning and managing your personal finances are covered in the first two modules which includes some basic economic principles, career strategies, planning tax strategies, banking services, and an introduction to consumer credit. Modules 3 and 4 explore transportation and housing costs and options, consumer purchasing strategies and the need for insuring your resources. Module 5 and 6 provide an overview on investment strategies in stocks, bonds and mutual funds: the value of planning for retirement; and fraud prevention. This series provides the financial basics for everyone. Series hosts introduce viewers to many subject matter experts who share tips and facts on the variety of topics. These topics are also highlighted in short vignettes where we see real life examples of the problems or situations, and solutions to each. By applying the techniques covered in this series, each student will be armed with the tools necessary to maintain financial health and independence in the 21st century
