PDE Awards Farm To School Grants To 30 Pennsylvania Schools

Harrisburg, PA /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ - Secretary of Education Pedro A. Rivera today announced the awarding of Farm to School grants to schools across the state, which will provide students with access to fresh, healthy food sourced locally. "Promoting healthy eating habits and providing access to fresh, local foods to students will not only benefit students, but farms as well," said Sec. Rivera. "The Farm to School Grant Program will enable the students of the commonwealth to start practicing good nutrition in youth, encouraging them to grow up to be adults who shop locally and health-consciously."
