Creating the Technology Classroom is a staff development program designed to help teachers develop strategies for implementing the technology in their classrooms to support learning objectives. The program, which is part of the developer's Just In Time Teaching Series, is available in either a videodisc format, designed for use in a workshop environment, or in a CD-ROM format, designed for use by smaller groups and individuals.

The program includes over 2 hours of video, recorded in actual classrooms with real teachers and students, to provide teachers with firsthand examples of strategies for implementing technology. Commentary from the teachers shown in the videos can help users understand how the strategies have improved their classrooms.

The program is designed to help teachers:

  • Learn how to develop and implement a technology-based curriculum
  • Learn how to manage the use of technology in the classroom, define student roles in relation to technology, and set boundaries and expectations
  • Learn how to use technology to develop cooperative structures and inquiry-based learning
  • Explore collaboration with other teachers, interdisciplinary instruction and scheduling

The CD-ROM format is available for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
