Classworks by Curriculum Advantage Will Integrate with Performance Tracker from AlterNet Performance: Powerful Combination to Create Data-Driven Learning Plans

PHILADELPHIA - Curriculum Advantage, Inc. announced that it has partnered with AlterNet Performance in creating a seamless interface between Classworks -- a network-based system of K-12 reading and mathematics curriculum and learning tools – and Performance Tracker, a web-based platform that aggregates and disaggregates assessment data from state, national and local benchmark tests.

With the integrated products, educators will have a powerful tool to easily analyze data from high stakes assessments, further assess each student's proficiency in mathematics and reading and automatically create an individual Classworks learning plan to address areas of need for each student.

"This is an exciting partnership for Classworks because it further enhances the relevance of our curriculum and gives teachers more power over information and more ways to use that information," said Mr. Lindsey Cook, president of Curriculum Advantage.

"Classworks is steadily gaining market share as a remediation resource that helps teachers use formative assessments in a proactive manner," said Jeff Colosimo, president of AlterNet Performance. "The combination of Classworks teaching activities with Performance Tracker's powerful assessment and tracking capabilities will be of great benefit to educators."

"We are excited that two products we use in our district will now be integrated," said Jerry Slamecka, assistant superintendent of Butler Area School District in Pennsylvania. "We use Classworks for remediation and we use AlterNet to track relevant and specific data on each student. With the integrated products, we will be able to import the AlterNet data directly into Classworks and create a seamless loop between data, instruction and student success."

Classworks (www.curriculumadvantage.com) includes 8,600 learning activities from dozens of favorite educational software programs, all of which are correlated with National Education Standards in math and language arts. Classworks State Editions are further aligned to the learning standards of 15 states, including Pennsylvania and New York, so that teachers can more closely tie their teaching to the core concepts and competencies prescribed by their state. Teachers can also use the Classworks benchmarking assessments to obtain reports about how well students understand particular standards and thus assign remediation work, all automatic features of the Classworks system.

Classworks is a recognized reading resource worthy of purchase using Title II, Part D funds as allocated by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). Classworks is also aligned with the five key components of reading instruction: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension, as defined by the National Institute for Literacy and the Partnership for Reading. New content for English as a second language (ESL) and English Language Learners (ELL) is being added to help students who are new to the English language. Sixty hours of algebra and pre-algebra resources have also been added to a new Algebra Series for Classworks.

Performance Tracker is a powerful and easy-to-use software for school districts to track student performance and make data-driven decisions to enhance instruction and meet NCLB requirements. Performance Tracker is a single access point to quickly and easily aggregate and disaggregate state, national, and local assessment data which can be correlated to state and district academic standards, Because Performance Tracker is web-based, information is quickly and easily available including standards-based graphs and charts as well as data on a district, building, or individual student level. Performance Tracker is widely used throughout Pennsylvania and is available in other states.
