Educational Programs and Software began as an educational consulting firm in the early 1970's. In 1977, when microcomputers were introduced, EPES was among the first to begin writing software applications for school administrative functions. From that early beginning, the company has produced over twenty administrative software programs and has a customer base of over 18,000.

EPES was incorporated in 1986. It is a privately owned and operated. Boyd Denton is president and CEO. He has over thirty years of experience with computers, programming and consulting.

EPES Software programs have been developed by educators for educators. The primary objective of the company is to offer quality administrative software products, at a reasonable prices, backed by reliable support.

In 1997, EPES introduced their first Internet site. During the past two years, significant growth and development has occurred both in the United States and abroad. EPES currently has one of the most widely used school accounting programs in the United States. As of July, 1999, their accounting program is being used by over 13,500 schools nation wide.

EPES has a reputation for listening to and responding to users needs. Because of this, their software programs are frequently updated. The company has also produced a number of software products based on suggestions received by current users. When EPES receives a request to develop a new product from a user and then decides to develop that product, the user that first made the request receives the product free of charge and also a one year support agreement. This has encouraged users to freely interact with EPES.
