MIND Research Institute Wins Prestigious EdNET 2008 Industry Award

SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MIND Research Institute in Santa Ana announced that it won the prestigious EdNET 2008 Pioneer Award, a national awards competition sponsored by the Heller Reports, a QED company and leading provider of education market news and events. The Pioneer Award, now in its 16th year, is part of the EdNET Industry Awards program that recognizes organizations that have made important contributions through their products and programs to the education industry. The EdNET Pioneer Award is given to the one organization that has most significantly contributed to the growth of the education market over the previous year.

The non-profit MIND Research Institute has been focused on the national math crisis and its far-reaching impact on business and community. As a result of years of original, scientific research MIND developed programs that use a distinctive visual approach to help all students master the essential building blocks for math success. Their recently released Algebra Readiness intervention program rebuilds the foundational skills required to meet increasingly rigorous state math mandates. MIND's innovative courseware, text, and professional development programs have garnered numerous awards and have been proven effective through improved academic results and marked increases in test scores.

"With only 39% of students in our country proficient in Algebra I classes, MIND Research has worked tirelessly to spotlight and change this desperate situation, define the term ‘algebra readiness,' and create solutions that help students succeed in algebra," said Dr. Matthew Peterson, MIND Research Co-founder. "Winning EdNET's Pioneer Award is an amazing accomplishment for us and we are honored."

"The Heller Reports and QED are proud to recognize these outstanding innovators," said Nelson Heller, President of the Heller Reports. "They have made a significant contribution to our industry and to the future of the students we serve."

A panel of leading education industry experts selected the winners for the EdNET 2008 Industry Awards. According to QED, the EdNET judges noted, "MIND Research Institute offers an innovative, engaging and different way to teach algebraic concepts. And they have the research and effectiveness studies to prove it works."
