Student Achievement Soars With The Growing Use Of Classworks' Award-Winning Language Learner Series

Atlanta, GA - Classworks Language Learner Series (LLS), by Curriculum Advantage, Inc., is proving to be an invaluable educational tool in helping students improve their English language skills and scores by as much as 40 percent, school districts across the Southeast are discovering.

Brevard County School District ran a five-school, 13-week study during the last school year using Classworks Language Learner with Kindergarten - third-grade students identified as limited in English proficiency. The district was proud to report as much as a 42.25% increase in student language skills after 13 weeks.

"Our teachers took great interest in the program and used Classworks for whole class instruction as well as in the lab," said Ena Leiba, principal at Brevard's Sea Park Elementary School in Satellite Beach, Fla. "Our students were excited to use LLS as it made learning fun in the classroom." "Our third-grade FCAT scores improved dramatically because of Classworks and we will continue to make the most of this exciting product," said Leiba, adding that she credited Classworks and Language Learner in significantly improving Sea Park's students overall reading accuracy and aiding in the improved third-grade scores on the most recent Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).

Classworks Language Learner - a Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) 2006 CODiE Award winner as the Best Instructional Solution in Elementary Language Arts/Reading - is a fully interactive, research-based literacy program that teaches English reading, writing and speaking from pre-reading through fluency using a multi-sensory approach. Brevard County has implemented Classworks Math and Language Arts programs district-wide in its 57 elementary and 16 middle schools.
